Over the last week I had finished most of my modelling, I began laying out the level which to my surprise takes longer than expected. However putting the work in means getting it done (before schedule hopefully). Here are some screen shots of a few rooms in Nyx.

After ruthless and intense hours of focusing on Nyx over the last two weeks, I have modeled all the rooms, with over 70 props and UV packed most of them. Here are some pictures that will hopefully explain it better!

Some Props that will be seen in Nyx:

These are the packed UV's of the props I made above, Each one has be specially packed for a certain shader such as diffuse, specular and transparent shaders. By doing this we save on draw calls and optimize the game to run smoother and faster. Instead of the CPU constantly loading a single texture for every prop, i have packed as many as i can in to one texture. In other words i'm saving a lot of ram use.

These are some screen shots of the props and environment that i have begun to lay out with in unity. Still a work in progress and will most likely change by the final product, for now i am just testing where things would fit in nicely.

Welcome to my blog, I am currently doing a full production assessment at JMC in Sydney. I am studying game design and am hoping to get my degree in it. This blog has mainly been set up for posting my process about a game me and a group are making at JMC, the game is called 'Nyx' and we are doing a Demo version of it. This is due to time constraints we have and can't afford to do a full game.

I am in charge of level design, lighting and basic environment animation, this blog will be updated every time i progress through this production.
